Academic Recovery Appeal
Under the Academic Recovery Appeal, students may request to have up to three credits in a certificate program, or up to nine credits in a degree program excluded from calculation in their GPA.
Courses in which the final grade earned was the result of an Academic Integrity violation, which are recorded by the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, are ineligible for exclusion.
To qualify for the Academic Recovery Appeal:
- The student must be admitted or readmitted to a graduate program that endorses the student's Academic Recovery Appeal.
- The student has not been enrolled at UNCG for at least two semesters (including Summer).
- The student’s cumulative GPA must be below 3.0.
- The courses to be excluded from the GPA cannot have already been applied to an awarded degree or certificate.
- None of the excluded courses can be used to satisfy academic requirements.
Once Academic Recovery has been applied to a course it cannot be reversed. Courses approved for exclusion cannot be used to meet degree requirements.
