Academic Recovery Policies
Students who are admitted or readmitted to a UNCG graduate program, who previously earned grades of B- or lower in their graduate course work, and who have a cumulative graduate GPA below 3.0 may be able to use one of the two following appeals to facilitate their return to UNCG.
Before submitting an application for admission, students are encouraged to discuss these appeals with the program to which they intend to apply. Application fees will not be refunded in the case of a denied appeal. If the admitting department supports the student's appeal, they will notify the Graduate School, who will issue the final decision. Like all admissions decisions, this determination is not subject to appeal
The appeal can only be requested once, and a student can only choose one of the appeal options.
All final grades and attempted credits from all course attempts will remain on a student's permanent academic transcript. The academic record and cumulative GPA will reflect the appeal upon the completion of at least once course after re-enrollment.
